Paso Robles, Atascadero, and Templeton are at the heart of California 's Central Coast, one of the most delightful areas in the world. Real Estate has been part of the areas history and growth for years. Originally part of a 25,000 acre land grant, Rancho Paso Robles was purchased by James and Daniel Blackburn in 1857. They created a rest stop for travelers along the Camino Real. Paso Robles was incorporated in 1869, the same year that construction of the famed El Paso de Robles Hotel began. Opened in 1891, the hotel saw many celebrities and fueled much of the initial growth in the city.

Templeton was founded in 1886 by the West Coast Land Company – what we would call today a real estate development company. They laid out a plan of residential lots and businesses on 160 acres south of Paso Robles. Obviously, the value of real estate in the area was recognized early.

Atascadero, which is south of Templeton, was also created as a real estate venture. Edward Gardner Lewis, who had created University City, Missouri, planned and launched a utopian community. The initial investors homesteaded their plots with tents. Water was developed, orchards were planted and an 18 mile road (how Highway 41) to the ocean was built.

Today, the area is also known around the world for fabulous wines and stunning wineries.
